Step 9: Final walkthrough, punch list, and maintenance

A remodel isn’t “done” when the last worker leaves. It’s done when:

• The punch list is complete

• You understand how to operate and maintain new systems

• You have product documentation

• You have a plan to protect your investment (especially outdoors)

Ask your contractor for:

• Paint and finish details

• Product manuals and model numbers

• Care instructions for stone, wood, tile, and grout

• Maintenance recommendations for outdoor materials
